Freedom...

Hi everyone, Ash here

How is your week going so far? How do you feel today? Do you ever take the time to ask yourself how your body and mind is feeling? This is where mindfulness can help...

I was asked by a member of the SMASH community what mindfulness means to me. There is so much I could say, and I will share some more of my personal journey next week, but right now I would say Freedom.

Mindfulness gives me the freedom to be who I am.

It gives me the freedom to question what really matters to me.

The freedom to explore ideas, be creative and not be overly concerned with what others will say or think to the point that it holds me back from my own personal development.

The freedom to give myself a break and not be too critical that it has a negative effect.

The freedom to be calm, considerate and kind.

The freedom to know I will get stressed, angry and suffer anxiety at times but that I am capable to respond in a much more positive way, a way that helps me to grow and gain strength from my own experience.

The freedom to know that great things are coming my way and that I can enjoy what is happening on the journey right now.

Mindfulness creates freedom - once you find it, you understand what all the fuss is about

Thank you to those who came to the first Calm mindfulness meditation on Monday, it was lovely to see such a great turn out and I hope those of you who came felt stronger in mind after just 5 minutes of being calm and collected. We will do the same thing after SMASH this Friday and Monday, if you would like to bring a friend along just let us know and we can arrange that for you

For those of you who couldn't make it, please reach out if you have any questions or suggestions.

Here is another meditation from the Calm app, this time 10 minutes long. Give it a go and feel for yourself the freedom it can bring...

Have a wonderful end to your week
